Kalon Tarot

Kalon Tarot consists of 9 illustrated major arcana cards in a Tarot Card deck, inspired by the myths from Ancient Greece, with a focus on celebrating female characters from the mythos.

Whether working in illustration, graphic design or motion graphics, I use my art to tell stories and evoke emotional resonance with the audience.

For me, storytelling is not limited to creating brand new narratives, but retelling existing ones, spinning new perspectives on old ideas and recognising stories in the objects that surround us. Making mundane things into special, unexpected things, or magnifying the wonder in our everyday lives is central to my art practice. My personal work is characterized by a pastel colour palette and can be defined as character-focused and feminine. My primary inspirations are Japanese anime, video games and ancient mythologies.

Despite my artwork’s facade of innocence and romance, there is often an underlying dimension of melancholy, darkness or deeper meaning. I invite the viewer to embark on a journey to interpret an illustration in their own way. I intend for the viewer to be attracted to the visual appeal of a piece, but also experience connection, nostalgia and a sense of freshness or novel understanding.
