Moratoria
A three-dimensional forest diorama that documents an adolescent’s journey in forming their self-identity.
.
Growing up feels like shapeshifting. For some, it manifests in bursts of obsession with different topics in a restless search to find their true interests and what resonates with them. With my project I decided to translate the pure joy I felt as I discovered the world with maturing eyes. Everything felt new and exciting, and even if I didn’t keep my interest for long, experiencing this by myself meant I was carving out my identity.
In “Moratoria,” this experience comes to life as a three-dimensional forest of childish wonder. Just like in fairytales, it tells a still tale of discovery, experimentation and an eventual coming of age that can hopefully resonate with those still wandering, even when it feels never ending.
