Shadow

My thesis project is an animated narrative music video for a song I wrote called “Shadow.”

The song’s story is an allegory of the quest for self-knowledge, a coming-of-age parable about overcoming shadow possession and learning to integrate with this aspect of the self. The animation utilizes surrealist modes of expression, such as anthropomorphism, the supernatural, psychoanalytic concepts, pagan mythological figures, and dreamscapes. This project is the synthesis of my three great artistic loves: indie pop music, surrealism, and animation.
