In a dream state, Bunny, a paranoid and revenge-driven rabbit, relives the events of the apocalypse through a distorted reality.

My thesis project is a short animated film surrounding the themes of surrealism and the apocalypse. Prey is about a rabbit named Bunny who has had his life and family taken away from him from Devastation, a chaotic shapeshifter who taunts Bunny. This leaves Bunny abandoned in a post-apocalyptic world with a desire to avenge his family. He dedicates his life to destroying Devastation. As a result of this, he loses his grip on reality and his dreams and his reality become intertwined. I want to tell the story through the perspective of Bunny’s reality and dream, where the dream focuses around the events of the apocalypse, and the reality is the post-apocalypse. Through my animated film, I want to focus on the subconscious mind and explore the abstraction and obscurity of dreams, as well as build upon a post-apocalyptic world I am creating through my characters and narrative.
