  • A graphic novel on motherhood.

  • I see motherhood in all the women around me. I see it in my mother, my friends, my sisters, in me.

Motherhood is Stefanie, her strength and sadness carried in the months after aborting her baby, Motherhood is Fatima, her love for her parents, the work she does to provide for them and for the strangers she helps. Motherhood is Anamarie and her fears of being a single parent to her three daughters when she grew up without her own mother in her life.

Motherhood is not only a mother, sometimes its more than a mother. To me, motherhood is defined through sacrifices, mistakes, strength, fear, struggles, and love. Motherhood is their love, all they could give and at the time and all they knew how to give.

This idea came into fruition throughout the interviews I conducted with the three individual women. All their stories had a similar theme that shaped the core ideas of the book, and later, the physical aspect of the books cover.
