Shiva Trieu

Thesis

Shiva Trieu is a photographer and mixed media artist based in Los Angeles.

As an Asian American who grew up in a predominantly caucasian neighborhood, I began this work as a personal introspective. My mother is Indian and my father is Vietnamese; each of their stories is full of vibrancy and worth uncovering. Through archival research, anecdotal interviews, and my own photography, I am building a video collage that can follow the stories of my parents, as well as confirm my own identity.
