Photography is an evolving field, with technologies and experiences
Photography and death are symbiotically linked. No other medium has had such a myriad and complex relationship to the realm of dying, beginning with the earliest photographic still lifes (nature mortes). The Photographic Universe III brings together a range of leading practitioners, theoreticians, historians, and philosophers to consider and reflect on the complicated relationship between photography and death. The unique format of the conference will consist of one-on-one conversations between two individuals from disparate professional and research backgrounds.
