“The Guardian” is a collection of seventy four portraits of Mckinney touching consenting strangers’ faces on the streets of New York. She wanted to explore crossing the threshold of personal space and capturing the moment of connection between two people.

She follow-up this with a video project entitled “Touch Me,” which documents Mckinney’s attempts to touch unsuspecting strangers.
