DESCRIPTION: A hands on workshop with artist and filmmaker Jeanne Liotta, who has dubbed herself ‘promiscuous with media’. Here in the 21st century the contemporary artist has a wide spectrum of media materials and methods available to her from the concrete to the virtual, from analog to digital. Why choose sides when you can have them all? By deconstructing one of her own films that uses a variety of processes to think about the translation of a poetry into the moving image by considering content, rhythm, time and touch, we will experience working with text, drawing, Bolex cinematography, hand processing film material, vernacular rephotography, and composing via digital editing software, effectively inventing a hybrid media model as a modern form of thinking.
