Melissa Fleming (MFA Photo Alum) will be speaking at the Society for Photographic Education to discuss “The Art and Science of Climate Change” on Friday, March 13th, 2015.
About the Lecture: Climate change is a complex scientific subject with diverse impacts. This lecture will explore how art can help broaden the public conversation and create a new pathway to understanding this critical issue. We will discuss the basic science of climate change and explore how artists are reacting to its diverse impacts around the globe. As a basis for this discussion, we will also look at how artists have responded to environmental issues in the past.
