IHGallery and Curator Michael Hanson are pleased to present photographic and video works of Nina Katchadourian, Bobby Davidson and Michel Alhadeff-Jones, in I have a place in mind. In this show, the artists explore conceptual transformations of place.

Michel Alhadeff-Jones’ videos and photographs capture dances of life: corporeal rhythms that occur even as our minds are elsewhere.

Spain becomes a bull’s head, and Austria the heart of Europe in Nina Katchadourian work, where she remakes physical road maps into metaphors of place.

Bobby Davidson’s work shows two different relations of thought to place. Inspired by a passage from Don Delillo’s Falling Man, Mr. Davidson fabricates images digitally that powerfully evoke the real New York City on 9/11. In a second series, he uses images of water to represent imagination in the movement from consciousness to sleep.

I have place in mind is on display through April 23.
