Projects
Mediated Environments
Creating and revealing unique perspectives on ordinary or ubiquitous spaces, including the geographical, architectural, emotional, and psychological. Mediating reflection and critique of familiar and unknown places.
Cultural Subversion
Questioning the manifest rules, rituals, and cultures that emerge from individual actions and the perspective of the collective. Exploiting the boundary between the potential of the individual and the power of the societal collective or group.
Object Oriented
Reconsidering the role that objects play in the increasingly screen-based life. Blending traditional design processes with computation and examining the relationship between the technological and the physical. Working at the margins where physical bits and digital bytes intersect.
Cultivating Change
Positioning technology as a medium to disrupt traditional practices and to reframe new solutions to old problems. Developing new systems and frameworks to showcase these practices in order for others to grow, challenge, modify, remix, and own a voice in these conversations.
Data Liberation
Developing systems that allow users to effectively collect and creatively harness data in order for them to manipulate, personalize, or customize information based on their needs, desires, or goals. Connecting people by communicating the narratives behind the numbers.
DIY Networks
Making the ability to share and communicate ideas and information accessible to wider populations. Customizing the fabric of community systems through crowd-sourced participation. Nurturing individual voices through collective expression in order to promote personal agency and responsibility.
Experiential Performance
Designing environments that promote performative elements and interactions. Invoking technology to dissolve boundaries, whether sensory, perceptual, or existential. Transforming discarded media, objects, ideas, actions, and emotions into layered, ephemeral narratives that reflect a uniquely topical stance on classic themes.
Immersive Play
Challenging the delineation of interaction and play, environment and imagination, narrative and agency. Developing self-evident systems and situations that create new conditions for choice and play. Creating immersive environments to foster learning, collaboration, and creativity.
