THE NEW ROCHELLE ART ASSOCIATION has a long tradition of promoting and supporting artists and the visual arts. Since its informal inception in 1912, the association has included among its membership many talented and internationally known painters, illustrators and sculptors.

The NRAA sponsored its first annual juried show to celebrate the opening of the new city library. Some of the noted participants in that show of 140 entries included: sculptor Robert Aitken, painters G. Glenn Newell, Remington Schuyler, A.G. Heaton and illustrators Norman Rockwell, Joseph C. Leyendecker and Victor Forsythe.

NRAA public visiting hours are form 9am—5pm, every Saturday.

Guest Judge: Anne von Stuelpnagel

Anne von Stuelpnagel is Director of Exhibitions at the Bruce Museum of Art and Science in Greenwich, Connecticut. In this position she is responsible for the design and production of the Museum’s 12-14 exhibitions per. Anne also initiated, planned and carried out the Museum’s two annual, juried outdoor arts and crafts festivals (in their 36th and 33rd years respectively) and now oversees their execution.

Anne received her BFA from the Blocherer School of Fine and Applied Arts in Munich, Germany. After settling in the United States in 1977, she took courses at the Greenwich Art Society and SUNY, Purchase (with Antonio Frasconi in printmaking) and since worked primarily as a printmaker specializing in woodcuts and monotypes. She has exhibited widely in the Connecticut/New York area and won numerous awards. She has taught classes, workshops and gave lectures in printmaking, painting, drawing, design and matting for beginners and advanced students. In recent years she has been invited to serve as juror for numerous fine art shows in Connecticut, Westchester County and New York City.
