Golnar Adili, “To Measure the Emotions of Others”, Solo Exhibition at Smack Mellon

Fine Arts Faculty Golnar Adili’s solo exhibition, To Measure the Emotions of Others, will be on view at Smack Mellon in DUMBO (92 Plymouth St. Brooklyn, NY 11201) from January 25 to March 29, 2026. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, January 24, 6-8pm.

From the exhibition’s press release: “Golnar Adili’s site-specific installation gathers sculptures and reproduced texts as a mediation on language, memory, and material. The exhibition indexes linguistic gestures from the artist’s mother and late father, who were leftist activists during the Iranian Revolution, as well as fragments of the earth and bodies as a form of poetic calculation. The works in this exhibition evolve through repetition, where Adili’s playful transposition of form shifts into the potential for pain, death, sorrow.”
