Fine Arts Faculty John Roach Wins Sappi Award, to Participate in Panel Discussion at PS1

Sound the Mound Receives an Ideas that Matter award

John Roach and Andrew Shea are happy to announce that they were the recipients of an “Ideas that Matter” award from Sappi to support their project Sound the Mound. The project is located at Freshkills Park in Staten Island(once the largest landfill on the planet) and involves a site specific sound installation in collaboration with Arable Labs, as well as a curriculum that focuses on our relationship to waste. The Sappi award will enable us to create educational tool kits that can be used at the park and at schools across the country.
