Call for Submissions

1. The Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig (HBK) announces the following scholarship to be awarded in 2019 on behalf of the Federal State of Lower Saxony, deadline April 1

The scholarships are part of the programme of the State of Lower Saxony for the support of emerging artists at the HBK Braunschweig. The programme is aimed at young artists who are interested in working intensively on artistic projects in the close environment of an art academy.

2. Skybridge Gallery, Open Call, deadline March 25

Artists are invited to submit work to be shown in the Skybridge Gallery. Your submission should explore notions of intimacy. What is intimacy? Is intimacy a response, a fear, or a form of relief? Is it grounding? Sensory? How do you choose and create intimate space and who do you choose to share it with?

3. Core program, Call for Artists, deadline April 1

The Core Program at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston is a nine-month postgraduate residency for artists and critical writers who are working to develop a sustainable practice. Offering a modest stipend and studio or office space, the program encourages residents to challenge one another to develop their practices within an intensive peer group.

4. 2019 Real Art Ways, Call for Entries, deadline March 29

Emerging artists from New England, New York and New Jersey are invited to submit their work for consideration for The Real Art Awards at Real Art Ways, supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
 
Six artists will receive: $2,500 prize, a solo exhibit at Real Art Ways in 2019 or 2020, an exhibition publication with essay, curatorial assistance, and the opportunity for an artist talk.

5. Endangered Species Day College Student Art Contest, deadline April 14

The art contest is open to current college students, ages 17 to 30. The contest is an integral part of the 14th annual Endangered Species Day on May 17, 2019. To be eligible, students’ artwork must depict a plant or animal species that has been placed on the threatened/endangered species list or is considered a recovered species or a candidate species (proposed to receive protection).
