Aronson Galleries Application Info Session

The New School for liberal Arts

65 West 11th St

Room 458

Thursday, October 4, 12-2pm

Please join us for an info session on how to prepare exhibition proposals for the Arnold and Sheila Aronson Galleries (66 5th Avenue).

The yearly call for proposals is open to all New School students and faculty (even if you are graduating in Spring 2019 you may apply, so long as you intend to be present during the time of the show.)

PLEASE NOTE: Solo exhibitions of individual artists are not competitive unless linked in a more expansive way to other artist or scholars’ practices.

Next Deadline for Proposals: November 1, 2018

Learn about creating a successful proposal:

  • curatorial concept (what kinds of thematics and approaches  are most competitive?)
  • exhibition display plans (how detailed does the exhibition plan need to be?)
  • curricular connections (how do I tie this into curriculum in order to reach the widest audiences across the university?)
  • impact public program/outreach plans (how do I think about this show beyond the physical white cube–what are its social and pedagogical dimensions?)
