Value is frequently constructed through context, repetition, and collective faith. What is compelling is rarely inherent; it is performed, circulated, and manufactured over time.
In a riposte to useless complication, the body of work retreats to a simplicity where clarity and restraint become forms of resistance. Minimal gestures, mnemonics, quotations of popular cultural archetypes and the quotidian function as motifs to evoke fragments of shared personal narratives. It is its combination with the vernacular of fine art — that agitate the aesthetic language of each — that simultaneously imbues them with new pluralities and underscores their inherent reality.

H is a contemporary artist whose practice navigates the intersections of digital media and pop sensibilities. Based in California, H’s artistic inclinations first emerged during his teenage years as he navigated a society becoming immersed in digital mediation.
He is currently finishing his Masters of Fine Arts at the Parsons School of Design. His work, which initially explored various digital formats, has since evolved to incorporate new mediums, drawing upon a broad spectrum of influences.
