We are looking for a talented web designer to create a rich user experience for the Tar Sands Song Book, a new TEDC-funded interdisciplinary music and documentary theater project that explores the sounds and stories of people who live next to oil technology and its effects. This website will be used to tell a broader social narrative through dynamic content including audio samples, images, and text.
The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and artful design, and be able to develop an intuitive and functional design that guides users through rich, dynamic content. Experience in design for environmental issues, social justice issues and performing arts projects is preferred, but not required.
This position is compensated through The New School’s Student Research Assistant fund. Eligible candidates must be currently enrolled at The New School. The website will be launched in early July 2016. Graduating students are eligible and encouraged to apply.
To apply for this position, please send a resume and work samples to Tanya Kalmanovitch, <kalmanot@newschool.edu>. Applications will be reviewed immediately.
