Parsons School of Design, a division of The New School, seeks an experienced Web Administrator to support and maintain its growing suite of WordPress blogs. The WordPress Web Developer will help design and deliver a functional web infrastructure that meets the needs of a complex, urban school of art and design. This position works closely with staff, faculty, and student technical designers from across Parsons’ academic schools. The post also serves as a primary Parsons liaison with The New School’s in-house Marketing and Communications (M&C) department, which coordinates the administration of the primary Parsons web site (www.newschool.edu/parsons).

Responsibilities:

-Create custom, responsive WordPress websites using the most up-to-date practices.
-Maintain current network of sites across all of Parsons using WordPress multisite features.
-Work collaboratively to design and develop websites from start to finish; Work from pre-designed wireframes/mockups when needed.
-Maintain up-to-date training and support materials for faculty, staff, and students designated as content contributors; Conduct individual user training sessions as needed.
-Coordinate and supervise the work of student technical designers and programmers dedicated to individual sites.
-Work closely with the Parsons server technician to troubleshoot issues, including working with Amazon Web Services and our in-house LAMP environment.
-Contribute to integration of content with other social media platforms and networks.
-Develop communication metrics; Analyze and makes strategic recommendations based on user data.
-Troubleshoot and resolve problems with web pages in a variety of devices and browsers.
-Help implement consistent functionality across Parsons’ suite of WordPress sites.
-Meet regularly with the university Marketing and Communications web team at staff meetings.
-Track and report web analytics when requested.
-Develop and implement a content strategy and editorial timelines to ensure that content is refreshed and updated on a regular basis.
-Assist Dean’s Office with special projects as needed.
