Occupy posterThe organizing committee of the NSSR’s upcoming “Universities for a New Economy” conference is looking for a highly-creative, rapid-fire graphic designer to design eye-catching, edgy promotional posters, fliers, and other event literature for the April 13th event. This is a great opportunity to showcase your design skills to an array of participating organizations and businesses ranging from Adbusters magazine, to the fair-trade company Equal Exchange.

They are looking for a designer with a solid grasp of the rough, angular, illustrated design aesthetic popularized by activist movements such as Occupy Wall Street. For examples, click here.

With the conference date quickly approaching, we need someone who is capable of turning out the posters and fliers on a very quick turn-around schedule – say, by March 4. Other conference materials such as event signage and programs can be completed by early April.

The conference itself will investigate how universities can employ curricular and institutional change to promote a shift towards a more democratic, ecologically sustainable and socially just economic system. It will be one of a series of similar student summits taking place across the country this spring. So this is also a great opportunity for anyone interested in engaging on these issues.

If you are interested, please email a few samples of your work ASAP to Keith (harrk010@newschool.edu), and he will be in touch with more details.
