Squarespace is a mid-stage NYC startup that develops a high-traffic, fully-hosted, content editing management platform on the web. Simply put, we create software that enables our customers to build and maintain awesome websites. We have been described as “the Apple of content management” and we’re growing like crazy. We recently completed a $38.5M minority investment from Index Ventures and Accel Partners, who are joining our team, as we continue to move forward in our mission of redefining publishing on the web. The Intern will work in coordination with the design team with the purpose of creating graphic interfaces for web services and mobile devices. If you are a student, this is a great opportunity to combine your education with real world application in a dynamic, fast growing Internet company.

Your portfolio should demonstrate your skills as an Interface Designer, User Experience Designer or Interaction Designer for Interactive Media.

Primary Requirements:
• Passionate about the web and latest technologies
• College degree in design or related field, preferably with interactive experience
• Solid understanding of information architecture and usability for web interfaces
• Knowledge of the principles and elements of design
• Experience in Web Design: mainly focused on front-end layout design
• Can create icons, charts, wireframes and other graphics from scratch
• Excellent skills with design software including Adobe CS.
• Good Graphic taste and fanatical attention to detail, down to the pixel

Pluses:
• HTML, CSS, Javascript
• Good knowledge of the basic graphic design: typography, print design, corporate identity, composition, colors theory
• Flash or HTML Prototyping
• Fireworks CS
• Mobile GUI Interface experience

Work Examples and goals:
• Create annotated wireframes, use cases, scenarios and user flows, paper and interactive prototypes, storyboards, and design specifications for new features
• Communicate design ideas through pencil sketches, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes
