The Artist Volunteer Center through a partnership with Jacob Riis Neighborhood Settlement House is proud to announce:

The Queensbridge Residency for the Performing Arts Fall 2014 Session

Selected Choreographers, Dancers, Performers, Theater Troupes, and all artists working in the Performing Arts will have free access to the 5200 sq. ft Queensbridge Gymnasium at the Queensbridge Community Center or the 1600 sq. ft Ravenswood Social Room in Long Island City in exchange for volunteer projects in the community. The selected artists will work with Jacob Riis to set up volunteer opportunities that connect the artists’ skill-set with the needs of the community. In the process, the participating artists will develop a meaningful relationship with this underserved community, the community will receive talented artists to fill much needed volunteer work, and the artists will have a free space to develop and/or perform critical new works– everyone wins! Deadline for Fall 2014 proposals is July 15th. Learn more here.
