The Coffee Art Project NYC 2016
___________________________________________________________
For Immediate Release
The Coffee Art Project is excited to announce that we will be holding our second New York competition this September. Applications for this high profile art competition are now open.
After the overwhelming success of The Coffee Art Project in New York in 2015, registrations are now being accepted for the competition that gives artists in ‘the city that never sleeps’ a chance to showcase their art to a vast new audience, support an incredible cause and win $1,500.
The Competition
The Coffee Art Project is a high profile art competition linked to the theme of Coffee. Artists at all levels can enter one piece of artwork that connects to ‘coffee’ and/or ‘coffee shop’ experience. There is no restriction on media used; sculpture, painting, installation, photography, and mixed media artworks are all eligible and welcome, providing that they have a justifiable link to coffee.
The winner of the competition will receive $1,500, and the two runners up will receive $500. The top 30 – 40 selected artworks will be exhibited at The New York Coffee Festival, September 16-18th at 69th Regiment Armory, Lexington Avenue.
Alongside the exhibition, 8 pieces will be selected for auction at The World Coffee Portal CEO Forum, held on September 15th, before being transported for exhibition for the festival the following day.
The Cause
The Coffee Art Project supports Project Waterfall, which is committed to bringing clean water to the communities which grow our coffee. All selected artworks will be put up for sale, with 50% of the funds raised from each sale going to this incredible cause.
25% of the remaining profit will go to the artist, with the final 25% covering running costs (packing, transport between venues etc.)
How to Enter
Applications are now open and artists may apply via The Coffee Art Project website.
