Seeking Media Intern for Non Profit Architecture Foundation

The Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation—a non-profit 501(c)(3) whose mission is to expand knowledge about women’s contributions to the built environment—is accepting applications for a Media Intern to assist the organization’s Communications Coordinator in online projects.

Work entails multiple tasks including: designing new website features, filming and editing short videos, launching a blog, and assisting Communications Coordinator with social media initiatives that highlight foundation activities and continue to grow an online audience. Additional projects may include researching local 20th century sites built by women and grant research related to film and media.

Applicant should be fluent with digital media applications and Mac computers; know Microsoft Office package as well as Adobe Creative Suite, have writing and editing skills, and be able to shoot, edit, and upload short YouTube videos. Strong design ability and website knowledge are a must. HTML web design knowledge a plus. A background or strong interest in architecture and design, art and architecture history, or women’s history and equity is preferred. Applicant must be a team player, flexible, creative, and have a strong attention to detail. Candidate will have the opportunity to experience working with a non-profit organization and to develop his or her own portfolio work.

Intern should ideally be available 1 or 2 days a week. We seek an undergraduate with junior or senior standing at a college or university in the New York City area. You must be able to intern for academic credit or volunteer experience. Our office is conveniently located near several major subway lines.
