Scrapped Magazine is looking for an intern this fall to help the 5 co-editors create the second issue of the magazine, due out this winter. Scrapped is a new print and online magazine showcasing the work of emerging and established artists working in all media. The magazine runs semi-annually; every issue is curated towards a unique theme (www.scrappedmag.com).
Our fall intern will aid us in marketing and PR—from meeting with local bookstores to creating publicity materials to managing our social media presence—we seek someone who takes initiative, can think outside the box, and who has excellent written and verbal communication skills. We want our intern to quickly grasp Scrapped’s unique take on the art world and run with it in a creative way. This internship will give ample exposure to all aspects of start-up business creation, art curation, and the editing process.
The internship is one day a week; meeting with one of the 5 founders to work one-on one with that person. Internship is unpaid; school credit will be given and a lunch for each work day will be provided.
Intern must possess:
-Marketing/PR knowledge or experience
-Familiarity with the arts
-Excellent written/verbal skills
-Good work ethic, ability to work effectively from home
-Some experience with PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign a plus
-A sense of humor

A resume is required, but we are not necessarily looking for someone with a lot of experience, more for someone who is enthusiastic and a fast learner.
