Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) is now accepting submissions of smartphone applications as part of a competition to become the official transit app of the government entity. The winning application will be the most intuitive and convenient mechanism which is usable across the most major platforms and incorporates both the Aerial Tramway and Red Bus schedules/movements. The goal of the application is to
facilitate the community’s use of Roosevelt Island public transportation. Application entries should be clean and aesthetically pleasing. We suggest that entrants consult the MTA website for references of other well-constructed transit apps including BusTime.

Entries should be submitted by April 1st, 2011. Submissions should include both a power point explaining the capabilities of the application as well as a link to an independent download site.

RIOC can be reached for additional contest information at (212) 832-4540 or arankin@rioc.com and ewilder@rioc.com.

Submissions should be sent to these addresses: arankin@rioc.com and ewilder@rioc.com.
