Photo Faculty Amy Stein has a new book out and will be signing it this weekend at the NY Art Book Fair. It is the launch of Tall Poppy Syndrome, her new book created in collaboration with Stacy Arezou Mehrfar and published by DECODE. The book is the result of a month-long road trip throughout New South Wales, Australia in 2010. The photographs explore the relationship between the individual and group in Australian society, specifically the phenomenon of tall poppy syndrome, where successful people, the “tall poppies,” get cut down to size. You can purchase a copy of Tall Poppy Syndrome on the DECODE website, photo-eye or Amazon.
BOOK SIGNING
Stacy and I will be signing copies of the book at the New York Art Book Fair at PS1 on Sunday, September 30 at 3pm. If you’re in New York, please stop by and say hi. MoMA PS1 is located at 22-25 Jackson Ave, Long Island City, NY.
