This week, Room Service Gallery in Williamsburg is proud to present “Living Together is Easy”, a show that explores the delicately personal effects of violence. The show features video, photographic, and sculptural works by Phoenix Lindsey Hall (MFA 2012) and Maria Rapicavoli, two artists whose attentions intersect on the boundary of two evils: sexual hate crime, and xenophobia.
The show carries a particular urgency as the Syrian refugee crisis maintains momentum and racially and sexually motivated aggression continues on a daily basis. Living Together is Easy aims to create a space for considering the impacts on individuals amongst these much larger global, economic and political networks.
