Parsons’ Solar Decathlon team seeks 3-6 Communication Design students for summer project involving a range of communications materials — both print and digital. Great opportunity for working on small- and large-scale graphics, web, branding, typography, etc.
About Solar Decathlon:
Parsons The New School for Design and Milano The New School for Management and Urban Policy recently launched a multi-year initiative with Stevens Institute of Technology to explore the use of solar technology to create sustainable, replicable, and cost-effective housing solutions. Over the course of the next two years, teams of undergraduate and graduate students, with expertise ranging from engineering to architecture to urban policy, will design and construct a fully functioning solar duplex house in the Ward 7 community of Washington, DC. Part of the work this summer is to reach out to the community in creative ways in order to make a positive contribution.
Summer Program Schedule: June 28-July 30, 2010
The work session is to happen at the same time as SCE courses in a space at 25 east 13th street. We will meet four days (Mon.-Thurs.) a week, 9AM-4PM, to work on the design development of the building and initiate the communication strategy. Possibility of $2,000.00 stipend for students.
