Parsons School of Design is looking for an enthusiastic, creative individual with extensive knowledge of social media specifically Instagram, and photography. The Social Media assistant will work in collaboration with the Academic Communication Coordinator. 5 – 10 hours per week needed.
Responsibilities:
Utilize a strong creative and media-savvy skill set to craft content for instagram.
– Attend Parsons related events and take photos, photo edit.
– Monitor Instagram account, proof content.
– Maintain posting schedule for guest take overs, themed weeks, etc.
– Research: track future events that are Instagram worthy (New School/Parsons events, shows, student life, study abroad, etc.).
– Communicate with divisions regarding content ideas, final’s week projects, festival (student installation photos, openings, etc.), Parsons benefit,
– Promote Parsons instagram: PS news, inform schools of upcoming themed weeks.
– Remind and confirm participants of any scheduled themed Instagram events (take overs).
Minimum Qualifications:
Background in digital media, marketing, journalism or communications.
Good photography skills
– Interest and/or experience in photography, videography and pop culture writing.
– Skilled at executing multiple projects simultaneously with efficient time management and without sacrificing exceptional attention to detail
– Willingness to experiment
– Responsive to feedback
– Team player
– Appreciation for arts, design, student life, and higher learning
– Knowledge of Parsons.
