In Relation” is an exploration of relationships mediated by photography with work by current students in Parsons MFA Photography Program. The artists in this exhibition form complex and varied approaches to ideas of culture, history, experience and perception. How we relate in the world, from familial to material, the work shown pushes on the complicated ideas of connection.Photography itself is often described as particularly important aspect of identification and memory in the act of relating. Work shown in this exhibition is organized as a collective, nuanced and visual definition of this negotiation in photography today. Curated by Jeanine Oleson, Associate Director, MFA Photo.
