September 18 – October 11, 2014, Opening Saturday, September 20, 12:00 – 4:00pm

Pulling the Devil’s Tail is a poetic expression that describes the craft of early American printing, the physical anatomy of a press and the technique of “pulling” a print. This exhibition of prints, books and objects by 35 artists is an overview of print practices including traditional techniques such as intaglio, lithography, relief and screen print, as well as contemporary methodology using digital processes. This compendium is curated by Michael Kirk on invitation of Prawat Laucharoen, head of printmaking and sculpture at The Horace Mann School.

Faculty Michael Kirk curates this exhibition of 80 prints by 35 artists, including current AMT and Parsons faculty William Phipps, Julia Gorton, Andrew C. Robinson, Aurora De Armendi, Lee Marchalonis, Kelli Glancey, Amy Pryor, Rachel Ostrow, Mohammad Khalil, Janice Loeb, Michael Kirk and alumni, Larry Dobens, Juana Valdes, Cyrstal Bruno (Clarity) and Renee Rockoff.
