Position Title: Instagram Student Assistant
Location New York City

Department: Deans Office, Parsons School of Design
Time: 5 hours per week
Parsons School of Design is looking for an enthusiastic and creative photographer with extensive knowledge of social media, specifically Instagram. The Social Media assistant will work in collaboration with the Academic Communications Coordinator
Responsibilities:
- Utilize a strong creative and media-savvy skill set to craft content for instagram.
- Attend Parsons related events for documentation; edit photos and videos prior to posting.
- Monitor Instagram account, proof content.
- Maintain posting schedule for guest takeovers, themed weeks, etc.
- Research: track future events that are Instagram worthy (New School/Parsons events, shows, student life, study abroad, etc.).
- Communicate with students, faculty, and staff who may contribute to Parsons’ social accounts.
- Promote Parsons Instagram: PS news, inform schools of upcoming themed weeks.
- Communicate with students we are seeking to re-gram or work with on takeovers to gain assets and descriptions for posts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Background in photography/digital media, marketing. Background in journalism or communications is helpful as well.
- Strong photography and video skills.
- Proficient in Adobe design suite.
- Interest and/or experience in photography, videography and pop culture writing.
- Skilled at executing multiple projects simultaneously with efficient time management and without sacrificing exceptional attention to detail.
- Willingness to experiment.
- Responsive to feedback.
- Team player.
- Appreciation for arts, design, student life, and higher learning.
- Knowledge of Parsons.
