Description

Are you a talented infographics designer / data visualizer with a passion for transforming data and research into compelling visual stories? The Nielsen Company, a global leader in marketing and media information, is looking for an infographics / data visualization specialist to join its global creative team based in New York. Reporting to the Creative Director, you will work with senior executives and researchers to build engaging visual experiences, drawing together data from multiple sources to build compelling visualizations for use on multiple platforms (print, web, audiovisual).

Responsibilities:

Working with the marketing and communication teams to create data visualizations for thought leadership, editorial channels and strategy presentations
Working with top-level executives to transform their thoughts, visions, strategies, goals and objectives into coherent narratives
Working autonomously to turn these narratives into creative and compelling presentations
Working with the Creative Director to evolve governance, guidelines and standards for data visualization

Qualifications:

Tertiary qualification in design, visual journalism or related field
5+ years in a graphic design role (talented graduates will also be considered)
Strong portfolio of infographic work
Demonstrated fluency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; MS PowerPoint and Excel
Professional graphic design experience with strong graphic design portfolio, incorporating infographics and data visualization; experience in creating interactive charts and infographics extremely desirable
Passion for giving meaning to data and interpreting business strategies into engaging visual experiences
Confidence and experience in stakeholder management; experience working with top-level executives desirable
Strong prioritization skills; ability to manage several projects at once in a fast-paced environment
Ability work independently as well as part of a team and liaise with virtual stakeholders
Excellent oral, written and visual communication skills
Strong work ethic and follow-up skills
