MFA Fine Arts Alum and AMT staff member Phoenix Lindsay Hall was awarded first place in the NYC Herradura Barrel Art Collection Competition! It is an annual competition put on my Herradura, where 10 artists in 7 different cities are given an actual oak Tequila barrel to transform into a work of art. Hall was one of the 10 artists selected for NYC. In addition to supporting artists directly, Herradura has donated $70,000 to Creative Capital, which is a fantastic arts organization.

Hall transformed a oak barrel into a hand-cranked gear system with “galloping” horses and a huge steel horseshoe.

In addition, Hall’s Lost Lovers (pictured above) is currently enjoying the sunny Miami weather. It was selected to be a part of the Bushwick Art Crit Group booth at the Select Art Fair curated by Kelsey Shwetz.
