Dong Yoon Park, a second year of MFA Design&Technology student, has just published a book in Korea, iCan iPhone4 Programming. It is an iPhone Application Programming book. Here is a description in Yoon’s own words:

As a mobile S/W developer, I tried to share my own experience. At the same time, as a designer, I did all the editorial design by myself and did all the graphic artworks. I have been living with InDesign for six months.

In the view point of designer, I tried to achieve visually rich and clean book so that readers can easily understand and follow. Instead of explaining every components of huge iOS frameworks one by one, the book is based on actual application projects which are also designed for this book. Readers can learn about important components and patterns of iOS programming by making those application projects and can get the big picture and the flow of iOS App design and development process.

We put our effort not only on the content but also on the book production. All 600 pages are in full color printed. We used compressed paper so that the book can be comfortably fit in readers hand. Especially, we matched the font and colors of the source code to Xcode’s source editor.

You can find the detail spreads and sample projects of the book.
