Congrats to MFA DT ’11 alum, Jeanne Kelly, who was just selected as an ADAA finalist in Installation Design for her thesis work, The Hyrtl Project. It has also been added to the permanent collection of the Mütter Museum in Philadelphia.

She will be going to Taipei in October for the ADAA Awards Ceremony.

Description:
The Hyrtl Project is an interactive collection of eight visual narratives. They are the artistic forensic facial reconstructions and historical fictions of eight of the 138 human skulls, that make up the Hyrtl collection, at the Mütter Museum in Philadelphia. The historical fictions grew from notes written directly onto each skull by Dr. Joseph Hyrtl. The facial reconstruction developed from years of artistic study, in both science and nature. Together, they tell the very human stories of these museum artifacts.
