Marie Vic (MFA Photography ’09) recently presented her multi video installation “Blowing Riccardo” in Toronto at Nuit Blanche Toronto. Nuit Blanche Toronto is a free, annual, city-wide celebration of contemporary art, produced by the City of Toronto in collaboration with Toronto’s arts community.
Blowing Riccardo chronicles a handful of Riccardo Tisci’s Givenchy garments getting bloated in a boneyard. The scene takes place in the Mojave Desert, in an aircraft graveyard. The garments are lingering in the wasteland, where old planes go to die. The wind blows softly, brushing the sky clean, clashing on the fabric. The clothes seem to be dancing among carcasses. “
