Jan Vrijman Fund Submission
Deadline: June 1, 2008
http://www.idfa.nl/industry/vrijman-fund/about-jan-vrijman-fund.aspx

The Jan Vrijman Fund focuses its activities on the improvement of the documentary climate in developing countries. Independent documentary makers living in these countries can submit applications for financial support in two rounds each year. Grants are intended for script development, production and post-production.

Please note that in addition to film projects, the Fund also supports activities that promote local documentary production and distribution such as workshops, documentary film festivals and educational programmes. The Fund not only provides financial support but also plays an advisory role.

The Jan Vrijman Fund will not apply rigid criteria but judge each project on its own merits. It is a prerequisite, however, that the filmmaker is a citizen of and lives and works in a developing country as defined on the DAC-list.

Last year, 14 projects were selected.
The maximum contribution for script and project development is €4,000.
The maximum contribution for production and post-production is €15,000.
The maximum contribution for other activities (audience engagement) is €15,000.
