As a visual design intern with our Product Design team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on real software products with designers, user researchers, product managers and engineers.
This internship offers both practical experience as well as pay rate per hour. Rate will be discussed with qualified candidates. This is a 0 credit summer internship and requires anywhere from 20 to 40 hours per week.

We try to balance intern tasks between what you already do well and what you need exposure to, but typical intern tasks include:
• Create visual design concepts for one or more of CA’s software products
• Produce hi-fidelity photoshop mockups and prepare graphics for web based software products
• Brainstorm with team about design and UI improvements, as well as new concepts
• Create looks consistent with other CA products – while pleasing our users
• Communicate effectively in a cross-functional product development team and present ideas and designs effectively
• Work with GUI developers and Engineers to ensure visual design has been implemented correctly
• Participate in design challenges when time allows

Other Job Requirements:
You have excellent skills in graphic design, and an eye for typography, clean layout, purposeful color, and refined style. You must have a deep appreciation for simple, sleek, usable interfaces. Additionally you must:
•Currently be enrolled in a BA/BS, BFA, or MA/MS program in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, or a related design field with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
•Possess strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently and with a group
•Be a self-starter who truly cares about user experience
•Have proficiency with design tools including Adobe Photoshop
•Have awareness of front end technologies and their constraints
•Be available to work in our Islandia,NY office for 8-12 weeks with a minimum of 20 hours per week. We’re flexible with student schedules, but three to five days a week is what is needed.
