Last night’s opening reception for Crossing Screens: Selected Work From Graduating Students in the School of Art, Media and Technology, was a huge success. The Jukebox, 2013

This film follows a quarter into the metaphysical space of a jukebox, bridging the physical and the tactile with the felt and experienced. What was once a cultural object emblematic of a post-war society, the jukebox transcends its utility into a kind of fiction, a lyrical embodiment of a past that never was. The film was shot using stop-motion photography of cut paper.
