Finalists for the National Book Awards were announced and AMT is proud to say that Illustration Professor Lauren Redniss has earned a nod for her book, “Radioactive: Marie & Pierre Curie, A Tale of Love and Fallout” (It Books)!!
The book is an illustrated biography of Marie Curie, the Polish-born French physicist famous for her work on radioactivity — she was the first person to win the Nobel Prize twice — and her equally accomplished husband, Pierre. It’s a graphic novel and a love story. It is the first time a visual book of this kind has been named a National Book Award finalist in this category.
