George Pitts is an eclectic figure in the Arts: an acclaimed and controversial photographer known for his sensuous, inventive, emotionally moving photography, a poet, an essayist, and a critical writer on Photography, Cinema, and Eroticism. His long poem Partial Objects, published here in full for the first time, is sensual, and densely crafted. It is a language that takes you across a veritable sea of words, never stopping for air, pulsing daring verbal music. Included are 3 additional poems, featured and excerpted over the past 40 years in The Paris Review, The Partisan Review, Parenthesis, and The New Tough.

Jerkpoet is thrilled to present PARTIAL OBJECTS, the debut book of poetry by the inimitable George Pitts. These poems span the 40 years of Pitts’ illustrious career as a photographer, painter, essayist, teacher, and thinker. Come celebrate the book launch with the author, who will speak and perform the title piece.
