The Abrams design dept is looking to add a full time designer to the family. This position is all design, all the time. And a wonderful opportunity to design high end art books and cook books. Illustrated book experience would be wonderful, and a sense of humor would be a nice plus.

SUMMARY: Design books and jackets/covers in an art department for illustrated book publishers publishing 150 books annually

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Design 8 titles per season
·Design 8 jackets/covers per season
·Create and upload materials required by sales and marketing, including blads, sales spreads, presentation and catalog materials

QUALIFICATIONS:
·Bachelor’s degree
·2-5 years/experience in illustrated book design
·Experience designing cookbooks and trade books is a plus
·Strong communication and collaboration/teamwork skills
·Strong understanding of the production (pre-press) and printing process
·Proficiency with InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite
