“WHERE I’VE BEEN”
Brooklyn Artist Christine Cha Explores New Worlds of Body and Land
Brand new to the art scene this year, Brooklyn artist Christine Cha is back for her second solo show of 2013. Beginning November 8th, the Wix Lounge kicks off their November art exhibition, premiering oil paintings by Cha, mingling landscape and figure.

This is Cha’s second exhibition, after her debut at the Greenpoint Gallery this past July, and she has already garnered attention from private collectors, local gallerists, and large media sources like the Huffington Post.

Christine Cha’s work is an intensive self exploration, translating her own visual and physical experiences. In contrast to current trends of cerebral, conceptual art, Cha focuses on bodily sensation and the unadulterated pleasures of seeing. Combined with the interest in discovering herself, her work becomes an almost masturbatory process, culminating in works that excite the viewer through the body, not the mind.

The venue is the new Wix Lounge, a free coworking and event space run by website builder Wix.com. The beautiful 23rd Street space brings together working entrepreneurs, artists, and other professionals five days a week.

On November 15th, from 6pm to 9pm, the space and artist will host an opening reception for the public, with free food and drinks as well as live music performances throughout the night.
