The ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE INITIATIVE for HAITI is a non-profit organization that advocates for a just, equitable, human rights oriented and sustainable re-development of the devastated Haitian nation and people. Capacity building and the strengthening of civic society must take place in the wake of a history of exploitation. We seek to provide legal and environmental planning expertise to local and governmental groups. Immediate action – both material aid and education is necessary to protect Haitian workers from toxic conditions found and caused by the rubble created by the Earthquake. The INITIATIVE is a member of Lawyers’ Earthquake Response Network and is catalyzing the work and expertise of lawyers, engineers, public health professionals, ecologists nation-wide.

We are in immediate need of volunteer DRUPAL oriented web developers to help put our site up and on line- ASAP
Please call or email Joel R Kupferman- executive director at envirojusticeforhaiti@gmail.com – 917-414-1983.
