About the Pingyao Festival:

The China Pingyao International Photography Festival is an international photography exhibition featuring traditional Chinese culture. Each exhibition features hundreds of excellent photographers from China as well as from around the world. The Pingyao exhibition promotes diversification, internationalization, and a variety of performance practices.

In addition to photography exhibitions, the festival also  includes awards for outstanding photo, video clips, and emerging artists.

PIP is one of the “Top-ten Festivities in China”. Based in Shanxi, a province with a history of 5,000 years, the festival has become one of the most important celebrations for the photography community, as well as a stage for photography communications among the international communities.
