Stephanie Pereira the Director of Kickstarter’s Art Program will speak on Wednesday from 7-8pm in room E206 of 25 East 13 street. This is a great opportunity to hear first hand from one of the main players in the crowd funding scene about new ways of storytelling and tips to go about financing them.
Stephanie will discuss the crowdfunding site Kickstarter, with a particular focus on what makes it work, and how to use the site most successfully. She will also share a few key projects.
Stephanie Pereira is Kickstarter’s Director of Program and its ambassador to the fine-arts sector.When she is not traveling to a new city to speak at a conference, connecting with artists and education professionals, meeting with representatives in city government, Stephanie can be found sharing funding insights with foundations, or imagining new ways for museums to connect with their communities. As the head of Kickstarter program she regularly works on public events with and for its community, such as curating Kickstarter funded artist books program for the LA Art Book Fair or a section of the New Museum’s IDEAS City festival.She has spent nearly a decade working in nonprofit arts management, and before joining Kickstarter led public programs at Eyebeam Art + Technology Center in NYC.
A member of NY Emerging Leaders in Art, she holds an MA in Arts Administration from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BFA in Visual Art from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
