Cube Prize 2012 – Emerging Digital Artist Award

Le Cube is organizing the Cube Prize 2012 for the best original work of digital Art by a young digital artist under 35 years old. The aim of this international award is to bring to light and showcase the work of a young digital artist.

The Cube Price 2012 is awarded to a digital work of art in the following fields : interactivity, generativity, network, internet, mobility. These works must be innovative installations or devices that explore the specific characteristics of digital tools in art (with the exception of live shows, video art or photographic art). They must be recent works that were created and finalised during the two years preceding the opening date of the call for applications.

Five works of art will be chosen and exhibited to the public during the Le Cube Festival 2012.
The Cube prize 2012 awards 10.000 euros to the artist or representative of the artistic collective that created the winning work.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Applications must be submitted on the site : www.cubefestival.com in the selection « Cube Prize 2012».
The dossier must include the following information :
• Introduction to the candidate (date of birth, CV, references and artistic experience)
• Detailed and illustrated presentation of the work : description, challenges and artistic message, interaction of the work with the public
• Detailed technical documentation : technologies used, floor/plan/set‐up, material required for exhibition
• A video presenting the work, preferably in a public exhibition setting

The application must be illustrated with images of the work which explain how it works and it’s
aesthetic challenges.

All these information must be compiled in a single document in PDF format. The presentation video for works must be available via an online link.
